Some of the following original paintings shown below have been sold, but I will be happy to paint a recreation of the original. The recreation will be very close to original but not an exact copy , as brush strokes and color value/tone may differ slightly from original. Scaled up versions, or versions painted on different formats (such as oval to rectangular canvas or vice/versa) can be done, but may come with additional charge. Prints for these paintings are available.
I used as a reference for this painting, a photo I took from June 1999 in Glacier National Park. The turquoise/blue water is a result of what's called 'rock flour' , from the fine grinding of rocks under ice and glaciers.

This was painted using a reference photo I took in 2003 from the rim of Crater Lake.

From memories of hiking over a ridge at sunset and seeing a single boat moored close to the center of a very calm harbor guarded by quiet dark mountains.
9" x 12" Oil on canvas
Inspired by some of the landscapes I saw while travelling through Montana. This painting is an original painted directly on a ceramic tile .

Anyone who loves to fish knows that the next big one will be caught with just "one more cast". This is what I'm thinking anyway when out there enjoying the serenity of a calm lake or stream at sunset.

The sun burning through the beautiful chaos of a forest, always a spirit lifting experience.
This painting can be made to order in the original 12"x24" or 12"x36"
I painted this from a reference photo I took in August 1999 while hiking on the Cascade Creek trail near Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park.

ChromaRes ™ Forms Each finished piece is an original and unique due to the way the form is cut and painted. Due to required drying time for paint and Resin epoxy, new orders will have a LEAD TIME of 3-4 weeks. Dimension shown in length x height (inches), is the rectangular area in which each of these forms would fit. Many of the forms can be scaled up in size. And I'm happy to take suggestions for new shapes and ideas.

Add a footnote if this applies to your business
So many possibilities, how do you choose. To start, I'd like to suggest you keep it simple, and choose no more than 4 colors per form. Any more than that, in my opinion, and the piece will become very "busy". However , in the end, it does all come down to personal preference.
Have a look at the forms on this site and note the color list in the description for each and use those as a reference. Sometimes the most stunning effects are achieved with only 2 colors, like the cat looking back (black and purple) , or the shark (black and metallic cobalt blue).
Use the color wheel shown at right as a reference. Color theory states that the complimentary colors, those that are opposite one another on the wheel, will create a significant visual contrast when placed together. For example: blue and orange, or violet and yellow.
Is significant contrast important for you, or would a more subtle color mix, such as red and violet work better? Again, it's personal preference. Keep in mind that because of the way the paint is applied to the forms, colors will mix to a certain degree, so if you order a form with yellow, blue and black, there's a good chance you'll also see some green, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
If you like the particular color combos used on one of the forms above, i'm happy to use that same recipe on any form you'd like.
